The TrueHeat (12W/m) thin underfloor heating cable kit is designed for installation on wooden or concrete floors under floor tiles. TrueHeat underfloor heating cables are available in a wide range of sizes and an unlimited amount of heating mats can be used to heat any floor area.
Selecting the Correct Cable:
To select the correct cable you need to know a few things, the free floor area size that you want heated, and whether you would like it to be your primary or secondary heat source.
Once you know the free floor area you can move on to selecting the correct cable for yourself. Each cable has a minimum and maximum square metres, these are what the cable would cover at 100w/m2 being the smallest measurement up to 200w/m2 being the highest measurement. Please check the table in the images section for reference.
Control:
Up to 3600W of TrueHeat heating cables can be controlled by a single underfloor heating thermostat.
For larger areas, please use multiple thermostats or a contactor to switch the load.
(A contactor is a device designed for switching an electrical current on or off, used in higher current capacity situations.)
For warm floor applications, use a thermostat with floor sensor only.
For total heating a thermostat should be used with air and floor sensor, the exception to this would be wet areas, such as a bathroom, where the thermostat must be mounted outside the wet area with the floor sensor in the wet area floor.
Applications:
TrueCable can be used in any room with a wooden or concrete base floor, the only stipulation is that the underfloor heating cable is covered by a flexible tile adhesive and/or self-levelling compound.
