ROCATEX CG2 WA Ultimate Grout is an industry leading, rapid setting, fibre reinforced, flexible, anti-mould wall & floor cement based grout. Developed for tiles and natural stone with joint widths between 1-20mm it is ideal for interior and exterior use in both domestic and commercial environments. Advanced water repellent polymers improve colour stability, wear resistance and enable use in both dry and wet areas including swimming pools.

AREAS OF USE

Ceramic / Porcelain / Natural Stone / Mosaics
Timber / Underfloor Heating
Swimming Pools / Wet Areas
Domestic / Commercial
Interior / Exterior

PREPARATION Ensure the tiles are firmly fixed and the joints are clean, dry, free from all loose matter including dust, dirt, grease, excess adhesive, bedding mortar and any other contaminants.

MIXING

Mix 5kg of ROCATEX CG2 WA Ultimate Grout with approximately 1.6 litres of cold clean tap water until a smooth creamy consistency is achieved using a suitable drill with whisk attachment. Mix at a slow speed for a minimum of 2 minutes to ensure that all ingredients (polymers, retarding agents, colour pigments etc.) are dispersed thoroughly throughout the whole mix. Allow to stand for 2 minutes then re-mix.

APPLICATION

Use a suitable grout float or squeegee to work the grout deeply into the joints ensuring the joints are completely filled. Excess grout should be removed as work proceeds and any residues left on the tile face can be removed by wiping off with a damp sponge approximately 20 minutes after application. Any dry film remaining on the surface can be removed by polishing off with a dry cloth when the grout has hardened in the joints. Do not apply if frost is forecast within 24 hours, in wet conditions, in temperatures below 5°C or above 25°C, to areas in direct sunlight or to substrates that are hot.

PLEASE NOTE

When grouting we recommend following the instructions below to help achieve successful grout application.

Do not use bags of grout from different batches on the same grout job. Batch numbers are clearly displayed on the packaging.
Never mix the grout with more water than recommended as this could lead to the grout drying patchy and or a lighter finished colour.

When removing the excess grout from the tiles, try to allow the grout to have stiffened in the joints.
When removing the excess grout from tiles, use as little water as possible to wash off the tiles.
Some tiles and natural stone may be susceptible to surface discolouration when grouting. A trial application should be carried out to determine whether discolouration is likely. When sealing is required, it is recommended to apply the first coat prior to grouting to ensure the grout/pigment is not retained in the surface porosity or texture of the tile.
All tools and materials used during application, such as floats, squeegees, cloths, sponges etc., must be clean and free from contaminants likely to cause staining or discolouration to the finished grout. Clean all tools immediately after use with clean water.

If using an acid based cleaning product to clean the tiled and grouted area, we strongly advise testing the cleaner on a discreet section first. Acid based cleaning products can cause discolouration and premature wearing of the grout.

CARE & MAINTENANCE

To help maintain its appearance, it is recommended that grout joints are sealed using a suitable sealer from the ROCATEX range and are regularly cleaned with ROCATEX Tile & Stone Cleaner.

COVERAGE

Coverage is dependent on the tile dimensions and joint width. It can be calculated using the product calculator on our website or with the formula below, all measurements in mm.

Add: length and breadth of tile together
Multiply: result by joint width
Multiply: result by joint depth
Multiply: result by 1.6 (coverage figure for ROCATEX CG2 WA Ultimate Grout)
Divide: result by length of tile
Divide: result by breadth of tile The result is the material requirement in kg per square metre.
(A+B) x C x D x 1.6 = kg/m2 A x B

STORAGE

Store unopened, clear of the ground, in a cool, dry, frost free environment.
